GalaxyFest Coverage, Day 1

2012-Feb-25 -> from the 29-days-of-fantasy department Tags:

When I heard that scifi/fantasy author Dr. Shay Fabbro was going to GalaxyFest this year, I couldn't help but jump at the chance to get some great coverage.

So here is the lovely Dr. Fabbro, with coverage of day 1. :)

Star date 2-24-2012

Today was the first day of GalaxyFest 2012, hosted by the Antlers Hilton in Colorado Springs, CO. Fellow author, Mark Stone, and myself are attending this scifi convention in hopes of meeting some very awesome fellow geeks and selling every book we brought with us and gaining hordes of adoring fans. I won't lie to you... I seriously hope Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar from Star Trek: TNG) comes by my table and buys one of each of my books from the Portals of Destiny series and becomes my biggest fan.

Mark and I got set up at our table (right next to best-selling scifi author Kevin J. Anderson) and bought some GalaxyFest shirts from the lovely couple across from us.

We spotted a guy dressed up in a red storm trooper outfit and he graciously agreed to an enthusiastic request for a photograph. I can't help but be seriously stoked about being at this convention and I think my excitement is quite obvious to anyone I talk to. ;)

Well, as luck would have it, I got in on the bad side of some agents of the Empire. Turns out they don't take too kindly to us folks in the Rebellion...

This convention has really been a blast and a HALF! All of the people are just amazing and the volunteers putting on the con are so helpful and nice. They have really made this convention something special. I can't wait to see what tomorrow has in store for us!
